Mantua’s attempt to regulate short-term rentals has stalled, with residents expressing concern over lengths of rentals and special circumstances.

They are currently navigating challenges with their HOA to install solar panels on their roof. The HOA’s resistance, based on aesthetic and curbside appeal concerns, mirrors the apprehensions expressed by some in Streetsboro.

Davey Elementary School has three playground areas, but they are so inaccessible that some children with special needs miss out on their daily recess time. If they can even get to the play areas, these children often sit on the sidelines, watching as their peers enjoy unstructured time, games and laughter.

First opening in 1997, the KSU Downtown Gallery has operated as a bridge between the city and the university, showcasing the work of local artists downtown for almost three decades.

The long-awaited time capsule opening took place July 6. Inside the time capsule were, among other things, old newspapers, an old book from the Garrettsville 120th Centennial and a song written about Garrettsville called “Old Garrettsville” that was sung by two girls, according to the James A. Garfield Historical Society, when the time capsule was buried in 1924. Two women sang the song at the time capsule opening.
