County roundup: Fire and EMS levy coming to Charlestown ballots, plus news from Paris and Rootstown

Charlestown Township is putting a 5-mill levy on the November ballot for its fire and EMS.

“We’re doing it because EMS costs have gone up,” township Trustee Tim Patrick said. “We also have a renewal of a 1.5-mill levy. If the 5-mill passes, we’re going to retire the 1.5-mill levy, but we did the renewal just in case the 5-mill doesn’t pass.”
