Portage County 4-H Life Skills Committee held the county 4-H sewing judging and fashion revue on July 18th. 4-H members from 8 to 18 years old and ranging in skills from beginner level sewers to advanced levels competed. First place winners in each category went on to the Ohio State Fair sewing judging and style revue.

Over three years after the death of local newspaper editor Roger Di Paolo, the prolific Kent chronicler now has a headstone. But leave it to Di Paolo to shake things up — the headstone is at his feet.

Atwater Township is chip-and-sealing German Church Road and Bank Street and is fog sealing Laubert Road. Fog sealing helps to seal small cracks in pavement and prevents water from penetrating the surface, which can cause damage over time. Also, township road workers have begun underdrain work in the Hillcrest Allotment to correct water drainage issues.
