County roundup: Road projects and town hall upgrades coming to Atwater, plus news from Suffield

Atwater Township is chip-and-sealing German Church Road and Bank Street and is fog sealing Laubert Road. Fog sealing helps to seal small cracks in pavement and prevents water from penetrating the surface, which can cause damage over time. Also, township road workers have begun underdrain work in the Hillcrest Allotment to correct water drainage issues.

The township trustees continue to discuss several projects that will be funded by the last of the CARES Act money that must be designated by the end of 2024. At the top of the list are the repairs to the front exterior of the town hall along with acoustical work inside the town hall. Other projects include an electronic sign for the town center, the purchase of a new snowplow blade and road broom and architectural plans for a future maintenance garage.
