UH Portage secures funding for a $1 million Breast Health Center

- Natalie Wolford

Through a Community Projects Funding application, U.S. Rep. Tim Ryan obtained nearly $18 million for projects in the 13th congressional district, including $1 million for UH Portage.

The grant will fund equipment updates and facility renovations “to establish a patient-focused Breast Health Center within the existing medical center,” Ryan wrote in the proposal. The submission highlighted the need for improved women’s health care in the community and opportunities to develop breast cancer treatment services in the hospital system.
