Round-the-clock police coverage in the Village of Hiram will continue despite financial concerns that threatened to reduce staffing.
Village Council President Chris Szell said Hiram Police Chief Brian Gregory is stretching his budget to keep officers on staff and fill the hours. Last year, council freed up $20,000 by paying the village’s fiscal officer and assistant fiscal officer out of the water department fund, reasoning that both perform duties for the water department.
