County roundup: Mogadore will stick with current trash plan, plus news from Brimfield, Suffield and Atwater

In 2020, Mogadore residents voted to implement a trash aggregation program, and the next year Kimble Recycling & Waste Disposal won the bid for the contract. Kimble had a three-year contract with a fourth-year option. Village council recently passed legislation to extend the contract one more year from April 1, 2024, to March 31, 2025, for trash pickup and recycling for the village. Starting April 1 when the new one-year extension kicks in, it will cost $52.71 every three months for the trash and recycle pickup.

The Mogadore Historical Society will have another “Soup and Sandwich” fundraiser luncheon from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 8 at the Russell M. Pry Community Center at 3857 Mogadore Rd. For $20 or less, you can have a great lunch, which includes several sandwich and soup options. This will be the historical society’s last luncheon until spring.
