Around Windham: Talkin’ baseball already?

Windham Schools were selected as a 2023 “Fields of Excellence” Award winner by Pioneer Athletics. More than 9,000 places applied and Windham was one of six selected from Ohio, including three schools, two minor league teams and one university. I would imagine that many of these athletic fields had much bigger budgets than we do. Jake created “Hope Field” using the word Hope and the Cancer Awareness logo. So great theme, great design and well executed!! Thanks to Jake, Herb, Mike and Chase for their work on our football field to make it look great!

Congratulations to eighth-grader Canden Battersby for advancing out of the Portage County Spelling Bee, which was held at James A. Garfield. He now advances to the Akron-area round. It is hoped he can qualify for the national contest in Washington, D.C.
