Around Windham: Community comes together to help in hard times

- Ann Taft

A fundraising event for Elliot Thompson and his family, put on by the Windham softball community was held June 22 and 23. Elliot is coach for the 14U team in Windham and has been very active in our local softball program. Elliot had a massive stroke recently. He is in the Cleveland Clinic at the time I wrote this.

The softball community tried to raise $500 by hosting a Coach Pitch (level 2) Baseball Double Elimination Tournament. All of the money they raised selling concessions will be donated and they also passed around a “donation bucket” for teams and families of players to donate to help. They hope to ease the cost of traveling expenses for the family.
