Around Edinburg: Pirate Day, spring cleanup and more events coming up soon

- Cathy Klein

The first-ever Pirate Community Day is almost here. Come to Southeast High School at 8423 Tallmadge Rd. on Tuesday, April 23 for a ribbon-cutting ceremony for the new Southeast track. The event begins at 4 p.m.

The festivities will feature food trucks, memorabilia, and announcement of the track name and lanes. Sports taking place that day will be track, baseball, softball and lacrosse, beginning at 5 p.m. I’ve seen a few pictures from track meets that have been held there so far and it looks really great.
