Around Edinburg: Historical society hosts its first guest speakers, plus more news and upcoming events

The Edinburg Ohio Historical Society hosted its first guest speakers at its September meeting, held recently at Town Hall. Martha Bradfield and her son, Tom Bradfield, came to share stories about her life and things they recalled about Edinburg. Martha is the second-oldest resident of Edinburg and the oldest member of Edinburg United Church. Officers for the historical society were also nominated and voted on as follows: President — Beverly Nissel, Vice President/Secretary — Peggy Coy, and Treasurer – Linda Dillon.

Meetings will be held at 7 p.m. the second Wednesday of the month, with the next one falling on Oct. 9. However, that meeting will be held at Edinburg United Church in order to help out with apple pie making, which is the historical society’s biggest fundraiser of the year.
