Around Brimfield: New neighbors, exciting events and will we ever get an Aldi?

One would think that after living in a rather small community for 43 years, there would not be many new places to discover. That is not the case for our rapidly growing and changing township. The best part of writing “Around Brimfield” is connecting with people and learning about their stories. We are all neighbors, and it is said that a good neighbor is a found treasure.

I discovered a new treasure a few weeks ago when I was perusing Facebook and noticed a post about a newly opened store, Scott Farm Market and Greenhouse at 1977 Meloy Road. I remembered in years past, our family bought our Halloween pumpkins from Jim and Doris Scott, who lived on Meloy Road and wondered if it could be the same farm. Indeed, it was the one that our children fondly remember, but it has passed to the next generation, and they are doing amazing things to expand the farm.
