Has anyone ever actually won an argument with a 4-year-old? One morning this past week, I was driving our little grandson to our home to spend the day. I was excited about a program at the library that I was sure he would enjoy. The conversation went as follows:
Me: Gordon, would you like to go to the library this morning to learn about baby animals and their mommies?
Gordon: Is Grandpa going to go with us?
Me: I don’t think so. He’s working on a project.
Gordon: (Emphatically) Well then, that would be a hard NO!
Me trying not to laugh and trying to convince him that he and I could have a great time without Grandpa, to no avail.
