July 4 – Happy Independence Day! Two hundred forty-nine years ago, on July 4, 1776, the Second Continental Congress ratified the Declaration of Independence, establishing the United States of America! It is a day to be celebrated! May we ever be free!
As a young girl, the game “Telephone” was a popular slumber party activity. Players sat in a circle, and someone would whisper a sentence to the person next to her or him, who then whispered it to the next, and so on. The final player would repeat what was heard, and the person who began would reveal the original statement to see how much it had changed. It almost always ended with a group of girls laughing.
