In 1992, musician Phil Kline, who grew up in Northeast Ohio, created a participatory mobile sound sculpture inspired by portable electric instruments, boomboxes and Christmas caroling. 

The St. Ambrose choir is holding its Christmas concert at 3 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 17 at the church, located at 10692 Freedom St. in Garrettsville. Come out and listen to this angelic choir.

Thankfully, leaf season is pretty well over for this year. The only thing we’re still playing with is the tree in front of our garage. It hasn’t completely changed yet. It didn’t even start turning until the beginning of November. The rest of them are all done. Yay.

Voters passed Issue 2 in the general election, so 30 days later — Dec. 7 — it technically became legal to possess, grow and buy recreational marijuana in Ohio.

Traditional madrigal feast music filled the auditorium at Stanton Middle School on Dec. 8 and 9 for the Kent Roosevelt High School choral department’s 10th annual Madrigal Dinner.

The bridge by the corner of Newton Falls Road and Holcomb Road has been closed by Portage County until a new bridge is built. Brick barriers were put up on both sides.

Leonard suggested a temporary moratorium on cultivation, processing and retail distribution of adult-use cannabis per the suggestion of Ashland County Prosecuting Attorney Christopher Tunnell. The trustees voted in favor of a three-month moratorium.

An efficient trustee meeting followed a brief zoning update regarding occupancy at the Turnpike Commerce Center (TCC) on State Route 44.
