Construction of Kent’s new city hall is on track and the building should be open in July, said city Service Director Melanie Baker.

Repair work is set to begin on the Newton Falls Road Bridge just east of Holcomb Road. The bridge was closed in early December 2023, and the county expects to complete repairs and reopen the bridge by this spring.

Kent schools recently announced receipt of a $2.3 million state grant to expand an advanced manufacturing and innovation center at Theodore Roosevelt High School.

Aurora City Council is receiving a $500,000 grant from the Ohio Department of Natural Resources toward the first segment of the hike-and-bike trail that is being built. The trail, which will be called the Aurora Trail, will run along the railroad right-of-way that runs through town.
